News from George Mason

This has been a very exciting year for the Eta Lambda Chapter. We started off the fall semester by initiating 30 amazing women into Alpha Phi, followed by celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Eta Lambda Chapter (all in one day!). Thank you to everyone who attended!

On the philanthropic side of things, Eta Lambda raised over $10,000 this year for The Alpha Phi Foundation in Support of Cardiac Care! Through the King of Hearts pageant and Red Dress Gala, we were able to surpass our goals while contributing to a Foundation we care so much for. Again, thank you for everyone who attended the Red Dress Gala. It was a huge success. Eta Lambda also participated in Relay for Life, Patriots’ Cup, and the Best Buddies Program! We definitely live up to the Alpha Phi value of Service through our participation around the George Mason community.

Next, the sisters of Eta Lambda won our 16th Greek Week Championship title! We have now won 16 out of 19 Greek Weeks and plan on continuing our legacy in the years to come. Lastly, one of our sisters, Alex Jackson, attended the Alpha Phi Emerging Leaders Institute at Butler University. She is the 3rd sister from Eta Lambda that has been accepted to this amazing program and it wouldn’t be possible without your support for The Alpha Phi Foundation. Thank you so much for your continuous support for the Eta Lambda Chapter. We hope to see you at our 3rd Annual Red Dress Gala in February of 2010!

Eta Lambda was recognized with various awards for their many outstanding achievements during the past year. At the Alpha Phi International South East Regional Conference, the chapter received the awards for Excellence in Alumnae Relations, Collegiate Chapter of the Year, Advisory Board of the Year and Chapter Advisor of the Year!
