Once again, the Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi at George Mason University has had a successful year. We finished the spring semester on a positive note both with philanthropy and regionally.

Eta Lambda held the four annual Red Dress Gala at the Mason Inn with 300 people in attendance, the largest number we have ever had. We were lucky to have Diana Styker from the Alpha Phi Foundation as our guest speaker for the event, as well as other Alumnae. Our chapter raised a little over $12,000 for the Foundation at the Red Dress Gala and $1,200 at our "Cardiac Arrest" event on Mason Day, bringing our total for the semester to over $13,000!

Eta Lambda also participated in Greek Week this past March and continued to uphold our title of reigning champions. We won first place in Greek Sing and Greek Week, securing 18 our of 21 Greek Week wins for Alpha Phi.

On the Alpha Phi International front, our chapter was awarded with Outstanding Collegiate Chapter for the Southeastern Region at the annual conference in February. Other awards that Eta Lambda recieved were Excellence in Formal Recruitment and Excellence in Community Service. Another one of our sisters, Jennifer Wham, was selected to attend the Alpha Phi Emerging Leaders Insitute (ELI) at Butler University. Jennifer was the 5th sister to attend from Eta Lambda, with Lyndsey Lustig selected to attend the year before.

We are now halfway through our fall semester and have recently initiated 36 new sisters into our chapter! This currently brings our chapter total to over 115 sisters, making us the largest chapter on campus. Congradulations ladies!

Eta Lambda is looking forward to our King of Hearts Pageant in November with an extra day entitled "A Phiesta!" We are so excited for this revamped philanthropy event and can't wait to see what the rest of the semester will bring us!
